Join us for an introduction and strategic overview of purchasing cooperatives – what they are, how they work, and how you can win contracts to get more business!

This presentation covers the basics of purchasing cooperatives – what they are, how they work, and how businesses can leverage them to get valuable local past performance experience needed to advance in govcon. In addition, you will learn how local procurement officials think, what they need and how best to meet those needs by using co-ops. Finally, you’ll come away with tips and tactics on leveraging these contracts to obtain more business opportunities in the future.

Robert Marraro

ROBERT MARRARO, Del Mar College PTAC

Robert Marraro is the Procurement Specialist who handles Del Mar College PTAC’s rural clients in the 11 counties outside of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is a Certified Procurement Professional and Certified Public Manager. Mr. Marraro has been in the public sector for 12 years with the Corpus Christi Independent School District, Corpus Christi Police Department, Education Service Center, Region 2, and Harris County Department of Education, where he was responsible for several large procurement projects of which some were grant-funded. Robert is knowledgeable about purchasing cooperatives and all aspects of educational and municipal procurement regulations, from writing RFP/RFQs to assisting bidders, writing and evaluating winning bid proposals, to awarding contract awards and vendor management. In the past, he was a Mentor with SCORE Corpus Christi to small businesses and now serves as a Subject Matter Expert to non-profit organizations.
