Description
Contractors performing service contracts for the federal government must comply with a set of labor standards dictated by statute and regulations. Principal among these is the requirement to pay employees the certain minimum prevailing wages and fringe benefits dictated by DOL wage determinations or collective bargaining agreements. In this course, Mr Mattox will highlight and discuss the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) standards and how contractors must comply.
In this presentation, participants will learn:
- when these labor standards apply;
- what these labor standards are, with an emphasis on the payment of minimum prevailing wages and fringe benefits, record keeping, and notification obligations;
- what pertinent contract provisions show up in service contracts; and
- penalties for failing to comply with the service contract labor standards.
